States her words were misconstrued by the press, pledges to work towards equitable solutions.
Our Area Director reached out far enough today to let it be known, that her words were given a negative spin in an article that appeared in the Cowichan Valley Citizen this morning.

Today’s rant in the press a common Iannidinardo tactic.
Once again, Lori Iannidinardo, Director for Area D, Cowichan Bay does to the residents of Cowichan Bay Village, what she claims we are constantly doing to Cowichan Bay itself.
Complaints from her in the Cowichan Valley Citizen this morning have us all looking a pack of fools. Fools for expecting that we could trust her to take part in rational discussion about the issues we face with regard to our sewage treatment, or lack thereof.
Lori stood there at the Thursday meeting, looked us all square in the face, said what she said, appeared to be receptive and co-operative knowing all the while that this article would appear in the morning paper.
We were there in good faith, our area director was decidedly not. Her rant in this morning’s paper proves it.

Trying to view a website using a mobile device can often by disappointingly annoying. Either the site is displayed in it’s entirety on your small screen forcing you to zoom to sections in order to see them, or as was the case here, only a very basic view is offered with many features normally seen absent.
Well I believe we’ve now fixed all that. The new mobile theme allows each story to be seen in an agreeable manner and also permits the use of the sidebar features, something the old system didn’t allow. I hope you enjoy the new formatting and will give it a try on your mobile device.

The first inklings of the fall season have come to Cowichan Bay village. We’ve been offered a bit of a preview as it were, of what’s in store over the next few months. The beautiful “blue sky” weather we enjoyed through much of June, July and August has been broken now by several days of dark clouds and just a little rain. It’s not as warm this week either.
Never fear however, this weather won’t last – it never does. September – October promise to be as beautiful as always, with cool crisp mornings giving way to occasionally bright and sunny afternoons. However, since the ground is damp today and the chances of getting soaked while hiking are fairly high, we find ourselves turning to indoor pursuits. Read more…

Cowichan Bay Village, Floating on a Mirror
If you look at the surface of the water between the docks, our float homes and boats, it often looks like a pane of dirty glass. Looking down we can easily see a few little fish, crabs and the occasional starfish. Barnacles and mussels are affixed to almost every surface.
It is only after you try looking in the other direction that you come to have even the slightest inkling of how very amazing the world these creatures inhabit is, and how very different from the one we wander about in, trapped as we are at the bottom of a fairly shallow ocean of “air”.

Fisherboy II Back at Dock
Update:
The fund-raiser in benefit of George Weeks will be held August 26th at the Pub. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Pier-66 Store in Cowichan Bay Village.
The Fisherboy II which got stuck on a log and foundered last Friday morning in Cowichan Bay, is floating and back at it’s dock in the Village. George Weeks has his boat back. His home is floating, albeit on a bit of a tilt in the slip which he rents at Pier 67 Marina. That’s the good news and today, we are going to focus on the good news.

Friends;
A few weeks ago I had the misfortune of reading a “letter to the editor” sent by one of our number to the Victoria Times Colonist. It was, if you will remember sent in reference to a story to do with a Saanich based “difficult neighbour” and went on to be fairly critical of the manner in which some of us choose to live our lives here, complaining about those of diminished means, those who perhaps drink a bit much and those who, as all of us do with varying degrees of success, are simply trying to get along in the world as best they can and with what they have.
I have to tell you frankly that after having read it, I felt a little saddened.
