Lori Iannidinardo Reaches Out to Cow-Bay Maritime Community

States her words were misconstrued by the press, pledges to work towards equitable solutions.

Our Area Director reached out far enough today to let it be known, that her words were given a negative spin in an article that appeared in the Cowichan Valley Citizen this morning.

Evidently, when she’d spoken to the reporter on Tuesday, she had been given to understand that feelings in the Bay were running rather higher than they actually were.

She mentioned these concerns while giving a statement on another matter, and the reporter ran with the story.

In reaching out, Ms. Iannidinardo pledged to assist in any way possible with regard to the formation and presentation of a community delegation, a first but important step towards resolving the issues we face with regard to environmental stewardship.

More news as it becomes available, however this should be seen as a very positive step, considering where we started this morning, and is more in keeping with the tone of the meetings we attended as a community on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

I’m sure she was misquoted. Yeah right.
