An invitation arrived in my email box the other day, I’ll let it speak for itself:
Join us for this year’s Boat Festival! We have three businesses looking to sponsor teams to participate in the Fast and Furious Boat Building Competition.
Contact the office if you are interested! Prize is 50/50 of entrance fees gathered and a prize of ice cream cones from Morning Mist Ice Cream for the Best Dressed Team!
Tickets are available at the office and Festival day for the Salmon BBQ in the evening. $15 per plate.
We could still use some volunteers for this event, if you are so inclined to help. Helpers for kids’ fishing, the water races and the BBQ would be most welcomed.
Fun for the whole family, including fishing and boat building for the kids.
Don’t miss the “Best of the Bay Clam Chowder Competition” for the adventurous.
Back by popular demand ‘Fast and Furious Boatbuilding’ Competition and Race. $50 registration per team, for a chance to win 50/50 of the entrance fees gathered. Prizes also awarded for best costumed team.
Kayak demonstrations and racing, as well as an old fashioned “Paper Bag Dinghy Race’.
Special courses laid out in the Bay to test your dinghy rowing skills…tired of rowing? …put on that old Seagull outboard for some classic racing and a poker run on the water, water soakers and super soakers are optional.
Make it a day and stay for the sit down salmon barbeque starting at 6pm $15. This is an alcohol-free event. Only 80 tickets available!
No charge registration and sign in for the Poker Seagull Race, Paper Bag Dinghy Race and Fishing events at the official tent in front of the Maritime Centre.
